Projector Brightness – How to get the most out of your projector

When hiring projectors, consider how large the projected image must be in order for the audience to see it clearly, and whether you want to have the lights on during projection for attendees to take notes. These factors will help determine the level of brightness required in a data projector.

When choosing the correct data projector for your event, one of the most important things to consider is room brightness. For bright & well lit rooms that are filled with sunlight, it is best to use a high brightness projector, however in darker rooms where the lights are dim and there is no sunlight you can get away with using a low brightness projector.

Projector brightness is measured in ANSI lumens. Generally, projectors run between 3000 and 10000 lumens. If you are in a large conference room and you need an image bright enough to be seen from a distance without dimming the lights, you’ll need to hire a higher lumens since the light from your data projector disperses over distance.

HERE’S A GUIDE to data projector hire brightness

2000 – 3000 lumens :  works well with a tripod screen suitable for small rooms or low lit rooms with 10-20 people.

3000 – 4500 lumens: works well for a screen of about 6 – 8 foot (180 – 240cm) in medium-sized room with about 50 – 100 people and dim lighting.

7000 – 10000 lumens: best for larger screens of about 8 – 25 foot (240 cm – 762 cm) in large meeting rooms with regular lighting and 200 – 600 people in the audience.
