Job Title: Operations Manager (assisting the GM) Based in Gladesville  – Sydney 

   

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to assist the GM with the planning and execution of live events. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical components of events from pre-production to post-production, ensuring the smooth running of events and excellent customer service. You will be required to manage the crew and operators for each event, oversee pre-event management, equipment preparation, and liaise with clients when necessary.    

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Deliver the technical components and project management of live events from pre-production, onsite, and post-production
  • Analyse client outcomes and allocate resources to each job accordingly
  • Test video and audio system racks and ensure they are in optimal working condition
  • Create detailed schematics and power plans
  • Brief onsite crew and update floor plans
  • Prepare and de-prep equipment in the warehouse
  • Research new technologies and solutions to problems
  • Lead onsite crew and show calling
  • Provide technical support and excellent customer service
  • Willingness to travel if needed

 

Key Skills:  

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Audio-Visual Technician or Technical Director
  • Strong knowledge in all aspects of AV, including audio, video, rigging, and lighting
  • Experience in rental management software
  • Knowledge of Vmix or other streaming software is an advantage
  • Solution-based approach to problems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment

As our Audio Visual Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and managing Audio Visual Hire for our corporate clients in Sydney & Melbourne. You will coordinate and operate events with 100-500 people, operate vision, and multiple microphones, and manage client needs and wants. You will also manage the setup and pack down of events and supervise junior staff.
