Projector Resolution

When hiring a data projector consider the resolution of the data projector as this can impact the quality of your presentation. Data projectors have either XGA (1024 x 768), WXGA ( 1280 x 800), or HD (1920 x 1080) resolutions which is a fixed resolution.  So regardless of the signal coming in e.g: from a laptop the data projector can only present in its native resolution.

What does this mean exactly?

If your laptop is the latest HD (1920 x 1080) signal pushing to an older XGA (1024 x 768) data projector the image that the data projector receives needs to be shrunk down so the information can output to the native resolution of the hired data projector.

Tripod Screens suit smaller rooms with a smaller audience and come in two screen sizes, 1.8×1.8 metres or 2.4×2.4 metres.  Tripod screens sit on 3 tripod legs, it is easily transportable and easily setup, therefore making it the more affordable option for smaller audiences.

For a more professional event, Fastfold screen hire is more commonplace as the screen is larger, sturdier and surrounded in black draping. Fast fold screens also allow for front or rear projection, a great space-saving idea in venues where seating is limited.

Available in a multitude of sizes to suit any requirements, fastfold screens require 2 technicians to setup as they are setup on a metal truss frame. When presenting on stage, a speaker generally runs the presentation of a laptop either from stage or operations in the back of the room.  More often than not the speaker may have a video to show and wants it to run seamlessly, following on from the previous slide and without the need to open a file live in front of an audience.  In order to do this vision mixing is required from the ops booth using a vision mixer, enabling a smooth transition between the laptop on stage and the laptop in the ops booth that has already loaded up the video. This is the same process if a holding slide is to be used on the screens while the presenter takes a break.

Vision Mixing is commonly used where a camera films a live event and the presenter switches between the presentation and a live demonstration on stage, whether it be a panel discussion, or flip chart drawing. Ensuring the smooth transition from the speakers laptop to a live demonstration is not only professional but enhances audience participation as it is constantly engaging.

Event Size:
When selecting a projector screen, you need to take into account the size of your event, and remember that the larger the event, the larger your screen will need to be.
Intimate events and small spaces call for a tripod screen and 3000 lumens data projector. Additional to front projection, clients can opt for rear projection when space is tight. This option allows more room for seating, whilst maintaining a great presentation quality. Tripod projector screen hire is optimum for events of up to 100 people.
When working with a large space, consider hiring multiple screens for maximum impact. For larger auditorium spaces that command attention IHAV provides screens as large as 20X11 ft. Brightness:
A good rule of thumb when selecting a data projector is to remember that it will be competing with any natural light in the event space, so in order to produce a well-focussed image, brighter rooms will require more powerful projection. In regular lighting conditions, consider a 4500 lumens projector. When working with highly lit areas a 7000 lumens projector will ensure your images and text stay sharp and crisp.
